Bikes and Fashion...The Perfect Combo.

Bikes and Fashion.....just go hand in hand. It is rare that you can find a site that has just about everything that you need to fix up your Fixie, Roadbike, Cruiser, or just to get necessities. Recently a good friend of mine referred me to the site Velo-orange.com. Now i rarely blog about cool sites, but this one is totally worth checking out to find some of the most fashionable gear for your bike......just to get a brass bell alone! To find out more, just click on the title of this post.

NYC: West Side Hwy.

Photos by: David Y.

This week i went for a walk with friends to the Highline park on the west side of Manhattan. Once we cleared the first phase, we went for a walk down to Battery Park along the West Side Hwy. i always forget how nice they have made the bike lanes and the views from the West Side are so beautiful.
Having lived here for 5 years now (man time flies), i realized that i never look up anymore. i never take the time to enjoy the view, and what is around me as much as i should....This blog was built for just that reason, to enjoy the view, and share it with all of you. Whether on a bike, or on foot....there is always time to appreciate everything beautiful, i challenge you to do the same.

NYC: Ansonia

Photos by: David Y.

One of my favorite parts about living in NYC is the endless exposure to inspiration. For me this comes in many forms, The history of NY, The Architecture, and being surrounded by art. One building that i have been obsessed with since before living in NY is the Ansonia Building. i first noticed the Ansonia on the movie Single White Female, with Bridget Fonda & Jennifer Jason Leigh. The building was built during the Beaux-Arts era from 1899-1904 and is the only building in NYC to resemble French Luxury Hotels. In its hayday it had a fountain in the entrance with live seals, and the largest indoor swimming pool. The building is located on 73rd and Broadway on NYC's Upper West Side, with 18 stories and spectacular views of NYC it is definitely one of NY's gem's. i have always wanted to live in this building and plan on someday doing so. i hope that you enjoy the pictures of its grand architecture.

NYC: The Intrepid

Photos by: David Y.

This weekend was another cold one here in the city. On Sunday i decided to take a small trek across the city to visit the Intrepid. The intrepid was created after WWII and is located off the neighborhood of Hell's Kitchen (44th and West Side Hwy.). i must have biked right next to this site several times this past year, but never have taken a moment to visit, till now. i do hope that you enjoy some of my pictures.....

BK: Green-Wood Cemetery

Photos by: David Y.

Well if you live in NYC i hope that you took some time to go out on this gorgeous day. For those of you who don't live here, we had a heat wave and it was 56ยบ today! i pulled out Griffin and took him for a cruise around Prospect Park with a good friend of mine. After doing a couple of laps, i realized how out of shape i really am, and look forward to getting back on track. After i came home i had a small lunch and ran out to Green-Wood Cemetery. i know i have posted about this place before but thought you might like checking out more of my pics. from today. Although Green-Wood doesn't allow bikes, you can certainly park on the outside and get out and walk around, which is what most people do!

Hope you enjoy these:

NYC: Chinatown & St. Marks

Photos by: David Y.

Since we are celebrating Chinese New Year, i thought it best to tool on down to Chinatown and get some pictures of things that catch my eye. When i moved to NYC back in 2004 i didn't own a camera, and when i got my first digital i vowed to keep a log of my stay in NYC. i am not planning on going anywhere, but if global warming continues the way it is, NYC will be underwater and i want to know what i was a part of. So, i have been documenting everything i do and see on a regular basis. i started down in Chinatown and ran right into a parade, so i ventured up to St. Marks and Astor Place to get some photos of the buildings. Hope you enjoy.......
