Hello again; NYC:Bike Racks

i know it has been a while since i have posted anything new to my blog, but rest assure i will be posting regularly going forward. Looking back at August, i have seen some hot days, and look forward to the cooler, and cold days of winter. i will be partaking in more rides around the city, including the night ride through central park. i hope to see many of you there with camera in toe.

Earlier this year i had mentioned, in a previous post, that the city intended on changing the bike racks here in NYC. In fact, there was a competition for this new design, and that the winner would be announced and shown at the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum. The finalists have been announced and you can find them here, along with a handy map to try them out around town. The winner will be announced Oct. 24th.
David Byrne, avid cyclist and musician (talking heads), was one of the judges of the competition. His designs are also being spread around town for a limited time, you can see them here.
i hope to see many of you there at the unveiling.

Those are definitely fun, but I don't think that visitors to the city realize that they're for bikes.
